Between traffic jams, layovers, and weather-related delays, this time of year is known for its travel-related stress. And that’s not even mentioning traveling with a significant other! Getting to your destination (whether by plane, train, or automobile) is like a mobile version of the Ikea relationship test: You’re probably going have at least one major fight by the end of the trip. And you’re definitely going to learn a lot about each other. But who cares about that?what are you going to wear?

When it comes to getting through anything transit related, most tend to toss on whatever is comfy, warm, and unlikely to stain. But you’re not most people. Let’s pretend that this is a much improved world, one where you worried less about bumper-to-bumper traffic and bad plane food and more about vacation bliss and the chance to unplug and ring in the new year on the right track, a world where the airport is not a circle of hell or a necessary evil but an opportunity to show off your excellent attitude and enviable ensemble. If we all acted like that, wouldn’t all of our travel days be better? Sure, you’re always going to have to pay extra for more leg room and your train will most likely always be late.
